Question

Substance Crashes splahs and white screen

I have been using the substance painter 3D application for years. I just bought a new PC and upgraded my teacher's license. I downloaded version 8.3, worked for a couple of hours and then couldn't open it again.

I get stuck in the startup splahs with a blank screen.
I have tried previous versions and the same thing happens to me.

Hi again @Bregos28284777ernland thank you for your patience.

On your current set up, one of your screen is connected to your integrated GPU. This may cause some trouble. I advise you to make sure both of your screens are connected to your dedicated GPU (NVidia RTX 4090) and try to restart Substance 3D Painter.

Keep me up to date !

Yes, I have the Huion graphics tablet display connected to the motherboard.

Tomorrow I will buy a displayport cable to connect the monitor and tablet to the GPU and I will let you know if the problem is solved.

Thanks so much for your reply my friend!

Hi, I have news!

I have connected the 2 monitors to the graphics card and it seems that the boot problem has been solved.

But in 2 hours of work I have been blocked 4 times. Radical crashes that do not let me save.

2 times I have tried to enter the "Display setting" options to change the environment.

I don't understand why it crashes so much now.

Hello @Bregos28284777ernl,

Thanks for your message.

Could you send me your log (help > export log…), so I can dig deeper into the issue ? And if Substance 3D Painter still doesn't open, you should find your log here: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Substance 3D Painter

With adobe creative cloud, the one you send me is not the path. I can't
find the path to Substance painter 😞

This should be the path for the creative cloud version. Maybe the hidden files are not shown on your Windows explorer (AppData is a hidden file). Try View Show Hidden items ?

Keep me posted.
