Question

Using a roughness texture, to place color

I added the roughness channel from this turtle skin material, on top of a aluminum material to add a pattern. It creates these outlines with spots in the center. How could I make it so the outlines in the metal have a different color? Could I also make a separate color for the grayish spot in the centers?

    Hello @Muji17,

You should play with Anchor Points. Place one in the Tortoise texture, then create a Fill Layer, add a Mask, add a Fill Effect inside the mask, call back the Anchor Point’s roughness and finally use the Level to refine where you want the mask to be.

    Hope this helps!

I am still able to see the pattern but when I try I am seeing a green tint on the whole material not just the pattern from the roughness. Is there something I set up wrong?
