So we pay for the software for years every month and there have not been a single meaningful update for 3 years +.
The moment adobe bought substance is the moment I stopped seeing any updates to the substance painter.
there are some stuff nobody uses but I'm saying
NEW TOOLS
NEW MASKS
NEW PROCEDURALS
NEW ALPHAS
nothing.

Unless of course you count colour management, geometry masks, revised shaders, warp projection...... etc 🙂

You can make a request for additional tools , functions etc, by raising them here as an idea , where others can vote on them. Adobe staff do read them.

Yea I will develop and write a specific tool. Maby I should even write the code for it, It's not like I pay for this software for years when nothing meaningful to me improves.

Meanwhile, opensource software like a blender which is free in past 3 years got faster and better and many of its tools got overhauled like particle system.
While the adobe team (profanity removed by moderator) to "hey we added hdri to linux pc and fixed some ui that was fine for years" I don't care. BTW this is a scammy thing to point to since it is increasing the reach and profits by making it better for other operating systems. It is meant to increase profits not make it better for windows.

Why is it so hard? Just point to a single meaningful thing for gamedev. why we are stuck with laggy and broken brushes.

"geometry masks" never needed that
"revised shaders" that's just a word salad
"warp projection" ye one thing that's hard to find a use for. Wanna make a face? just use reallusion.

Hello @defaulte136czpfxlty,

I am sorry to hear that Adobe Substance 3D Painter disappointed you. We knew the Adobe transition could be unwelcome by some of our users and this is why we double our efforts to make some cool new features (The auto unwrapping, the warp projection, new grunge/cloth patterns, etc.) and a better compatibility with all the soft of our suite.

But I get it, these new features were not those you wanted and that is why (as Dave mentioned it) you can always request any feature you feel Substance 3D painter is missing. We do read all the requests.

Don't worry, our goal is not to hire you as our new developer, but only to make sure your voice (as a user) is heard.

I hope you will feel a little bit more excited about our next Substance Painter updates and I wish you the best as a 3D artist.

Best regards,

Cyril Dellenbach (Micro) | QA Support Artist | Adobe
