adobe dimension 4.0.2 GPU rendering

Hello Community!

I have just been updating to the latest Version of adobe dimension, 4.0.2 . My machine is running windows 10 with the nvidia quadro RTX4000 and the latest drivers installed. With the prior version of Adobe Dimension I had no issues running the GPU-rendering and I really enjoyed working with it.

Now with the updated version, the GPU rendering option is and remains greyed out, no matter what I try. Dimension says my system is compatible, but due to windows graphics-settings it coud not be activated. I did follow the recommendations on settings in both, the driver and the windows menu. But as these primarily refer to machines running integrated and discrete graphics cards, it doesn´t make the difference. I remenber that at the beginnning, with the older version, there were also problems getting the GPU rendering to work, now with the time gone by, I hoped that we had come past this point.

Is there anyone facing the same issues, or maybe does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Suggestions and solutions are very welcome, thank you all in advance!

Cheers, Jörg.

Correct answer JMathews

There is a known issue with our rendering engine detection and the Quadro series cards in particular.  We do not have a known work around at this time and are in discussions with NVIDIA to try to improve how both Dimension and Stager can detect and utilize the raytracing appropriately.

The workaround for now is to continue using CPU rendering.

Thank you for clarifying this. Hopefully Adobe&Nvidia can soon provide a solution to fix this.

Kind regards, Jörg.

Try to do clean install with Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation issues. Also are you are on GPU's Gaming or Standart driver version? I havent any problem with Gaming Driver Nvidia RTX 4060

Hello Ares, thank you for your reply!

I am using the latest production branch driver, in this case it is R550 U7 (552.74). It is not specifically labeled a gaming driver. I will have a look at the Cleaner Tool... let´s see!

Best, Jörg.
