Dimension not able to open Projects - Usage of Boxcryptor / virtual drive - SOLUTION

Dear all,

I had a problem where it was not possible to open dimension files. Whenever I tried to open dimension files, an error message was displayed and I was asked to contact dimension support.

I did so on 3.12.2019, and there is still no answer, even though I remembered.

Today I also chatted with the Adobe support; also the support was not able to help me with the problem. It was even pointed out that Dimension is not served via the support chat.

So I started looking for a solution myself and found out the following:

For decentralized work I use Boxcryptor, which encrypts files individually and only then uploads them to my OwnCloud. For decryption, the Boxcryptor program integrates the files as a virtual drive on my Windows PC.

Dimension is obviously not able to open the files from the virtual drive. If I copy the files to the desktop before, I can work in the files. I just have to copy the files back into the virtual drive again and again.

Maybe the one or the other has a similar problem, maybe the problem also occurs with other virtual drives. I would like to store this here only for all others as info, because Adope does not provide any help here.
