Dimension taking a long time to import stl

It was working fine until a few days ago. Now any time I try to import an stl file (even small file sizes) it is "loading" at 50% indefinitely. I have to close out Dimension and restart it. I have plenty of memory and RAM. The app is up to date. thanks

@JelyRaeFIRST test the actual file by making a new Dimension document, place one asset from Dimension into the scene to confirm its working then remove that asset and try importing your Stl file

50% is the ram or close point and Stl are notorious for being unclosed models so i want to know 2 things;

1 does the file load when its the only thing in your canvas

2 if it doesn't load, how far does it get

after that we need the file for testing unless it does load on its own of course

I'm having the same issue trying to import obj files too

And the scene i'm working on already has a bunch of imported stls. I have tried removing some to see if that will help but it doesn't. I've tried opening up new blank documents and importing stls of various sizes and still I get hung up on the loading.
