Emission slider removes applied artwork

Before the 4.0 update I was able to make obejcts "glow" and the artwork would be visible, like a backlit fabric banner. Now when I apply the new emission option, the object glows but the artwork disappears. Is there a workaround for this?

How you do that? Did you try to change translucency in Interior properties and emmision value?

I had been changing the emission value, just tried it again with the translucency and it still doesn't seem to be working. I am attaching the file if you want to play around with it. The vertical banner is supposed to be lit from the inside.
