Handles disappeared

When I select objects and I try to move/scale/rotate them I can't see the handles that are normally there. I normally use the handles to move along a specific axis for example.

I search the forums and found someone who seemed to have the same problem then they said:

Solved. Found them by clicking on 'show/hide viewport extras'

But I can't find "show/hide viewport extras"
