Hey everyone!

I own a design studio the mainly creates decals for weddings on their dancefloor.

Wanting to get help on how to do/create dancefloor sizes and different decal/monograms to showcase a "mock up" for the bride before proceeding.

I want to able to choose the dancefloor size, be able to import my decal designs on the dancefloor and place in human models for reference.

Is this possible ? Can some one guide me in the right direction? am I in the wrong software?

I also use adobe illustrator

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Ree

  • I want to able to choose the dancefloor size = no 3D used relative xyz sizes but you can work arond that with scale
  • Is this possible = yes more or less

  • am I in the wrong software? yes Dimension is finished and Adobe has stepped back from all things 3D

  • I also use adobe illustrator = that will help as the old 3D making tool was bolted into it from Photoshop

  • Can some one guide me in the right direction? = yes

start by taking some good photos of your dance area

these two are what i consider your best so far; the one on the left has some floor items which give you scale and you can't beat sunlight

use a camera that take raw images [not jpeg] then edit your images down to a 2048 X 2048 pixal jpeg background images

you can use iclone or Fuse characters but I wouldn't... a chair or table still gives the eye a sense of scale and is much cleaner

once you have a good 10 or so images of the room from at least 2 different angles its time to start building your sets i.e, chairs, tables, lights etc

p.s, here is one i made a long time ago
