Importing obj and mtl together

Is there a way to import a mtl with a obj file? When I import an obj it shows up in dimension blank white.

no Adobe does not follow the Obj standard so it reads the mtl but does not actually import it

however you can import any texture\ normal maps that are linked to the old mtl file
