Installing multiple versions of Dimension
Most of the Adobe CC apps allow installation of multiple versions fo the software. This is quite helpful for maintianing ongoing workflow and being able to test the new version of an app without any hiccups migrating to the latest. For instance I keep Illustrator 2023 installed for a specific plugin I need sometimes but have updated to 2024 and then to 2025 over time for their new features and my daily work.
Dimension does not allow this - or at least the CC app doesn't give me the option. I would love to start exploring Version 4 and migrating to it but I can't afford to not be able to continue working in V3. I intitally tried V4 when it came out but it was completely unusable. It looks like fixes have come out to solve those initial problems, but I don't want to have to go through the update/revert process to find out. I have to rely on V3 to continue my daily work.
Especially with the new render engine I need to keep visual consistency with projects I have started in V3 so they need to stay in V3 (at least for some time or until they are depreciated) - for new projects I could start in V4 but I can't cut ties to V3 completely yet.
Let me know if there is a way to do this or a workaround.
This is such a handy tool for us folks in packaging design, it is sad how little attention it gets from Adobe. I hope Dimension gets to stick around despite all the rest of the 3D spinning off into it's own separate subscription.
Any insite into this would be great.
Thanks!
