Is Dimension an app for creating 3D items? Not just a graphic image but a file to print an item in 3D.

And if not, is there another Creative Suite tool that is?

If no CS app, do you have a recommendation for a beginner with Mac?

These are the guidelines: "Color parts require texture maps. A standard .STL file will not be sufficient for a color part. Color models must be submitted as a single compressed .ZIP file containing a .DAE, .WRL, .X3D, .X3DB, or .X3DV with .PNG, .JPG, or .GIF texture files. If you have uploaded your color model properly, the colors will appear in the 3D render when you select your material and at checkout. If a the 3D render is all gray or all black the model will not print in color."

Thanks!

Correct answer Ussnorway7605025

q1] no Dimension makes 2D images from 3D models and a background image

q2] no not really, Adobe Photoshop makes 3D models in skilled hands but Adobe doesn't really care about 3D and most people are better off learning Blender as a tool

q3] as someone that likes Photoshop [my goto software] and has used Maya and Blender for years I'd point new users to Blender
