Merging Objects in Dimension

Hello, I'm new to Dimension but use Illustrator regulary.

Is there a way to merge two objects in Dimension. Similar to the Unite function/Pathfinder/Illustrator.

It seems like a simple task to merge two ojects to make a new compounded object but I just can not find it.

Also I do not mean to group obects, I want to merge them.

I want to merge a square and circle to make the shape on the attached photo

Many thanks

Hello, no it's impossible to do that in Dimension. You can now use the new 3D features in Illustrator to do that and export an OBJ file. Then import the obj file in Dimension.

the way the workflow is designed you make your basic outline in Illustrator, send it to Photoshop to merge \ create a 3D model in Photoshop then rendor that model with Dimension

Adobe has dropped 3D from Photoshop [and imo Dimensions days are numbered] so you now need a 3rd party software like Sketchup or Blender to do what Photoshop did before

Hi Alexandre,

thanks for the info, I've been going from illustarator to photoshop to Dimension, this new feature in illustrator is great.

Maybe they will add a merge shape feature to dimension in the future.

Many thanks

Jay
