OBJ import still broken

Question

i still am finding that i can't open any of my OBJ files in Dimension. the animated load screen just keeps cycling but nothing happens for minutes on end. then i have to force quit the application. working on Windows 10. i've seen this behavior on multiple computers. sometimes with a fresh OS install when i'm rebuilding a system Dimension will run and load models fine from OBJ or FBX, etc. but then for some reason it stops and i can't load/import any models besides what comes with the application shelf.

any troubleshooting help you can offer?

there is more than 1 kind of Obj file... the best standard is wavefront Obj and Dimension will open those

every 3rd party software out there {Maya, Adobe, Rhino, Blender etc} will output some random rubish called a Obj file and many of them are Stl or Gld files just renamed
