Placed decal is distorted

Hi,

 

I have a jpeg that's 100x244 and a corresponding 'cube' that's also 100x244 in Dimension. When I place the design it appears stretched and set to 17%. 

 

Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong?

That is how Dn create UV maping  You must edit it by hand.

You will get better results by making a Png fill but Ares is correct that decal is designed to adjust by hand

That seems... odd?

 

Do I just have to guess the correct x/y proportions?
