Transparent background feature gone?

Before the recent upgrade, I could save a render as a PNG with a transparent background by unticking the Background check box.

After upgrading, when I untick this box, the background still saves as white.

Has this feature been moved or deleted?

yes i assumed it was the alpha channel bug because Photoshop and prem pro both have the same issue i.e, they can't output a transparent png

the work around I use is to make a Psd and turn off the background layer
