Dreamweaver CS5 Extension Manager not working on Dreamweaver CS5

I have been trying to get Dreamweaver CS5 Extension Manager to work on Dreamweaver CS5 (Dreamweaver CS5 11.0.3 Update installed) on Windows 7 Home Premium. I get these messages depending on which extension I am trying to install; Surveyor 108 (Adobe), SQLCodeColorHint, WACookies313:

"This extension cannot be installed, it requires Dreamweaver version 8 (7,9) or greater."

"This extension can not be installed, it requires Dreamweaver version in range of inclusively between 11 and 11.4"

Here is a list of what I have tried to do to get DW to recognize EM with no success:

- Ran both DW and EM in "Run as administrator" mode.

- Renamed the  Dreamweaver CS5 configuration folder but that did not work. DW made a new Config folder but EM still does not work.

- Dug through program files and deleted all previous versions of any DW including old Macromedia apps. Did some deletion in safe mode when Windows would not allow me to delete because of permissions issues. Deleted any EM and old DW files under %appdata%.

- Moved the folder "Adobe Extension Manager CS5" back and forth between "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)".

- When DW opens get the message, "The Extension Manager will now launch and finish updating Dreamweaver". EM does not launch.

- Have reinstalled EM several times.

Considering reinstalling DW CS5. Any thoughts?

I am sorry to see that you did not receive a reply. I'm having the same problem ... apparently the Adobe Extension Manager only sees the earlier versions of Dreamweaver, and so exits out of the installation.

If would be great to have the courtesy of a reply from Adobe regarding their extension manager.

Okay — thanks to a tip in another forum, I was erroneously using the Extension Manager CS5.5 (to install into DW CS5). I uninstalled it and installed the Extension Manager CS5, and it works!
