Extremely OT: Thunderbird 45.8!

I think Thunderbird has just updated automatically to v45.8 on Mac but its now a slighly different layout. Can anyone else confirm that? I'm sure I used to have a 'delete' button at the foot of the window. That seems to have gone.

I had to customize the interface but I can only seem to get a 'delete button' in the top bar now. It's driving me nuts as my action is to immediately go to the bottom of the window. I know after a couple of weeks I'll start going to the top but I'm either going nuts or I'm correct - can anyone else confirm their version of Thunderbird seems a little different, Mac or PC?

You're welcome, Os. Doesn't begin to compensate for all the words of wisdom you've contributed here over the <ahem> years.

Finally worked it out. The update had changed the layout and switched the 'Message Pane' option off. Once I switched that back on I got the familiar layout back. Was a nightnare as I had to keep double clicking on a message to read it and that opened  a new tab each time. I end up with 20-30 tabs open along the top at any one point.

There was no 'delete' button at the bottom of the main window its at the top of the 'Message Pane' giving the effect of being at the bottom of the window.

    Happy days!

    Os,

I was updated to 45.8 a day or so ago but on Win10 and noticed no difference in the layout/performance. Probably doesn't help you answer your question, but maybe it will just a mite. Certainly hope it helps.

    Hi Chris,

    Ok thanks for the reply.

At least you have confimed an update in the last few days so I think now I'm not going nuts and something has changed in my update, at least in the Mac version.

You sort of get used to where things are without thinking so when you go to perform an operation and something is not there anymore it kind of plays tricks with your mind.
