FTP Trouble in Vista

Since moving to Vista, I can't seem to FTP files up to the web server. I
have the same settitngs I had in XP and it does this for all sites. I'm
using passive FTP and I've tried disabling the firewall, but these don't
help. Any known issues here or ideas on things to check?

Sorry for too many updates, but results keep changing . . . after changing
the IPv6 settings, the one site's FTP worked ok for a few minutes . . . but
then all sites stopped working again!

Brandon - I'm having the same problem with Vista and Dreamweaver 8. My FTP login and password are being saved only for the current session. When I exit, they are gone and I have to re enter them through site manager the next time I restart Dreamweaver.

I have investigated the Vista firewall settings for Dreamweaver as well as file security attributes where my website files are stored and it appears that all access should be allowed.

I have looked at c:\programs\Macromedia and see that my "User" profile has only Read & execute to the Macromedia folder and all subfolders. Does Macromedia save the FTP settings somewhere in here that needs to have Write access enabled to solve this problem? And if so - how do I do that? I've tried changing Vista's file security setting permissions and something in Vista is fighting me there too....

Hope this sheds some light on the problem - it's a pain managing a dozen websites and having to re-re-reenter these settings....

Ok, maybe I celebrated too early . . . because changing the IPv6 settings
helped fix the FTP for one site, but not the others. Very confusing.

Mystery solved (finally). It turns out that because I had disabled IPv6
that FTP uploads stopped working (though I don't know why). I was able to
connect, but not upload/delete. I originally disabled IPv6 and the 2
Link-Layer Topology options because I was having trouble with my Wireless
connection and disabling IPv6 seemed to fix this, but broke FTP. Enabling
IPv6 and the 2 Link-Layer Topology option in TCP/IP properties allowed me to
upload again (thankfully).

FTP works fine on my Vista system. I am using Cute FTP Pro 8.

Hi, I'm having the same problem using a duel-core intel mac and Dreamweaver8. (it seems to work fine with 7..)
I am connecting ok when i test the connection, and i can also connect and view the remote files. But when I try to preview a page, I get an error message telling me my password or login is wrong. (ok, not the same problem..but, you know..)
I have tried everything I can think of, I even downloaded an update, and still no joy.

I am about to turn into Webzilla and destroy all computers!!!

Update: I have confirmed that this IS a Vista issue (although I don't know
what yet). I have checked with my host and they confirmed that they're able
to upload files ok. But I am unable to upload files via ftp from
Dreamweaver or through IE. Both methods return a permission is denied error
550 (although permissions are right). I am able to connect via ftp, just
not upload (even with the Windows firewall turned off).

No I can't. I've emailed my host . . . maybe it was just coincedence with
the Vista install.
