Node makes CPU run at 120%

When I use DW the node makes the CPU run in excess of 120% and brings the fans on at high speed. This is severely limiting my ability to work. I found a thread that said this was fixed last year, but I am still having big problems using DW.

How can I stop DW causing the fans to come on?
Thank you.

All is OK now. I installed DW 2020. Not only does the fan not come on, but I can find/replace 5,000 docs at a time without the fans. I can also copy and replace properly AND DW now no longer ceashes when I save a document. Magic! I've had my first crash-free day of DW in the 15 years since I started using it.

Thank you.

  • Which version of DW?
  • Which operating system?
  • Does this happen with all sites and all files or just certain ones?
