I have firefox and internet explorer browsers on numerous boxes. Have development site http://www.ultra-ion.us that uses wimpy to access list of wvm videos. Worked perfectly with adobe flash player version 9. Does not work at all with upgrade to adobe flash player version 10. You can see a full screen version of result here http://www.ultra-ion.us/media/video/DriWashPlayer.htm

Looks like a serious bug in version 10 to me. Anyone working on a patch or fix???

anyone using javascript must add this to get rid of "demo"

    so.addVariable("wimpyReg","YourRegCodeGoesHere");

not sure if anyone asked just wanted to put it here since wimpy doesnt

My response to the email received from Wimpy stating that I'd have to repurchase the software.

    ---------------------------------------

No thank you. I will not re-purchase an item that I already paid you for.  I've found several forums of extremely dissatisfied (and vocal) customers of yours, and I happened across your rating of "F" with the Better Business Bureau.  It is the responsibility of a legitimate company to provide a patch when they're product ceases to work.  You clearly have no interest in customer satisfaction and that's fine - I'm sure that sooner or later your shady practices will catch up with you.

As for me, I work for a major talk radio show with a national audience based out of New York City.  I'm not going to say the name here because that would be inappropriate, but it should suffice to say that it is, by a wide margin, the most recognized and well known radio personality ever.  I promise you that the next time we're talking about computers, or websites, or anything even remotely related to your company, I will take extra time to talk about how shady your company is, and to warn our national audience of over 12 million people (yes, 12 million) to stay away from anything and everything Wimpy/Plaino.  It's not an idle threat and quite frankly I don't care if you believe me; what's done is done.

I hope you go out of business.

    Regards,
    Michael

    Hi,

I am new to this game and really want to have my site using a single player with multiple flv's. I was about to download Wimpy Rave when I happened upon this forum. You have convinced me to look else where for a player other than Wimpy Rave. Sorry to hear of all the problems!

I looked over the web and came upon "TheFlashPlayerSource.com". I really don't feel like getting stuck with a player that will leave me in the dark. Hopefully this one won't.

I am using Dreamweaver Cs3 and like it very well. Here's hoping that I can get a single player/multi videos working.

I don't know if this will help but I found a site where the asp version 5.2.5 seems to be working. http://freshlypickedmusic.com/BrendaR/wimpy.asp is the link.
    --update--
I dug up an old copy of v5.2.5 and have it running just fine, so if you saved your old copies you should be all set.

    Hi there,
I confirm that mp3 player works ok (v6). I recently bought a license for Rave. That works ok too. I had an issue with IE, player was still in demo mode with demo logo. I checked with customizer and added reg code on some other place in Html page and it works ok now with no demo logo.

Looks like you can go here https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/GetStarted.aspx

to file a compaint against them

Unfortunatly theres only ONE (1 ) Compaint against them in the past 36 months and then closed reports
I think its time to spruce this up a bit.

    So use this information http://alaskaoregonwesternwashington.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=114&bbb=1296&firm=22473573

Hi all, say I just ran across this thread and also am out in the cold with a non-functional WIMPY Player.

I tried a much better solution, the Coffeecup Jukebox at http://www.coffeecup.com/web-jukebox/

It's pretty basic to setup, but it works and looks great.

Anyway, just thought I'd log in and say hey.

    1. why not just use your website to post the FIX for wimpy mp3 and link us to the article?

    2. What happens if you have 100s of pages or even dozens of page?
Well any intelligent web designer would simply either
Use an IFRAME to call the same player on many different pages so
if a change needs to be made, they only have to change ONE file and ALL the players will reflect this
THis sam rule applies for using Server Side Includes (Which i have done on my site )

Actually i have RAVE registered to ONE domain.
However using IFRAMES i can make my player show up on ANYONE elses website ( curently 7 ) and all with their own settings

..not to sound brash but....Get a clue or think it through.
You made a REALLY bad first impression
i sugggest you make an attempt at posting the FIX artilcle because people around here are pissed off enough
which in turn makes us very leary about giving our money away to someone to fix somehting that shouldnt be broken.

PS why should it cost $100?
I commonly do website fixes for $35 and thats only a ONE time fee for hte month
ONLY if i need to log in an fix something
If they need it done 4 times that month, its still $35

i really hate people like yourself who give respectful designers a bad name

These latest replies here very clearly demonstrate the split community we are a part of: ClubEXL.com proudly represents the ethical online community, and coolgeth (AND WIMPY), the aspect of online commerce that we all hope we never encounter. coolgeth, trying to cash in on other's misfortune...shame on you.

I am sorry to bother. i couldnt control myself.
Hello midiwriter what do you think in your mind? did i came here to fool you people. " trying to cash in on others misfortune".
For example consider you have a website and it' s not working or you need support to solve the problem. when you didnt get support from me. you will ratherly look for an alternative. In case other developer or administrator says that i can solve your problem with some cost. do you think its shame? or unfair? i dont think so.

I can just look at there website and know better than to hand over $100 bucks. The site doesn't even display correctly in IE7...menu bar is totally off the site and when you click on one of the pages it has no menu bar. Cooldls or whatever your name is...you'd be better off spending your time on your website layout before expecting people to have you help code up someones player for a price. Very unproffessional!!

    @ midiwriter - >
Now let me get this right...they want $100 of my money to fix my site??? (Isn't new Wimpy MP3 code just about $25?)

Yes everyone knew that new wimpy mp3 code is just $29.95. But if you are using old mp3 player which is bought before Nov 2007.
You have to update or modify each and every page where you had already implemented the player(read midiwriters above post clearly).say if you have more than 100 pages? what will you do?
But i will fix it globally in wimpy files so that you doesnt need to change each and every page and again it will work for years as before.

Also if you buy a new player from wimpy. Do you think that it will work properly? search it in google. you can see many users faces trouble who got new wimpy.
The player will be visible with flash 10 but you can see a Demo stamp at the top of the player. which will not be removed even after you registered.

    @ ClubEXL.com - >

    Did i disturbed you again?
    No worries. Go ban me.

    @ m77ty8uu - >

yes you are right the site has some layout problems. Thanks for pointing it. This was not developed by professionals. i dont have any website other than this which uses wimpy. Do you think this is the only website i have?
I just gave it for reference of the wimpy player. Never mind about the design of the site. just look out the player working and yours not.

Lets be cool. i am not a well speaker and also am not intended to fight with you people. Please forgive me if i did anything wrong.

And again everything is true. i can solve the problems of wimpy mp3 player in minutes. In total i had solved the problem of eight websites which uses wimpy mp3 player.
If you need any clarifications regarding this just email me email id:muralibecs@gmail.com
