I have been trying to install Flash Player for three days now. I have gone through every support step that was listed and still I can't see any content. Started with the install, didn't work; next came the unistall and reinstall didn't work. Upgraded browser, didn't work. Checked IE settings, didn't work. Checked Admin access, didn't work. Look in registry (as per adobe support instructions), nothing wrong. I also have Norton Internet Utilities and I went into the firewall settings and allowed all active x and flash content, still nothing.

Please, please, please, help!

SubInACL worked great, but you need to follow through with all the steps Darren gives you to make sure that you are not running the fix without having the conditions. Kudos to Adobe for taking the time to call from CA to PA and fixing a Microsoft problem! If more companies support pages were like this, there would be a lot more happy users. Listen to what Darren has to say, he knows what he is talking about. Well, again, thank you to Adobe and happy flash design!!!

I fixed my problem on my dual core 2 duo system running service pack 1. i think the problem i had was because i had kaspersky set to guard the registry. it asks for pernission to install everything. anyways what i did was turn that option off in kaspersky and used the adobe support(bottom of this page), looked for suport on flash player, Troubleshoot Adobe Flash Player installation for Windows, looked at Windows Vista installation failure and finally ran 1st the file for flash10. it updated it self just fine. and works like a charm. I think that vista and registry guard software don´´t mix too well.

Nowadays, most operating systems comes with adobe flash player blocked, because there might be some hacking issues. I don't know.

Notgoodusername, take yourself back to 2007. George W. Bush was president of the USA, and this question was asked. So, what you say is true today, but wasn't true 13 years ago.

We have several people in my company that are having the same problem after upgrading to 10. Adobe Breeze will not work after upgrading to 10. As a company we have instituted a ban on upgrading to 10 until its fixed.

    Reason

When entering an Adobe Acrobat Connect meeting a version check is run to make sure you have the correct version of Flash Player. We have updated our version detection to recognize Flash Player 10.

You also need to unblock flash player from your browser, before you use it. I have the same problem. I searched on the internet and a guide worked. Check it out below.

    Hi Darren,

I was getting so discouraged and then saw your very thoughtful offers of help in some of the threads. I think you're amazing!

Would you be so kind as to take my case, too? I am ill and bedridden, (and not yet very computer savvy), and was so relieved to see your thoughtful posts.

My problem description is at the top of thread "Flash Player will not work even upon reinstalling it" ( http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=44&catid=184&threadid=1401794&enterthread=y), and my case number is 0180507106.

Thank you so very much! I just can't tell you what it means!

You know these issues would be resolved if everybody just stopped using IE. I wish Microsoft cared that they are effectively sabotaging the developer community with their junkware!

As others, I've tried all the things Darren has suggested - it appears Flash is downloading but I get this message when I try to play something: "Internet Explorer has blocked this site from using an ActiveX control in an unsafe manner. As a result, this page may not display correctly." Not only does it not display correctly, it doesn't display at all. I've checked the register and it looks just like the page Darren posted. I've made sure that Flash was enabled in the plug-ins. I've checked the ActiveX controls on the security tab in the tools dropdown. Any help? Suggestions? Vista Home Premium/IE7.

Yes, IE blocked the site from using the ActiveX control.

"Internet Explorer has blocked this site from using an ActiveX control in an unsafe manner. As a result, this page may not display correctly."

If you get this message it’s an indication that your IE settings are blocking Flash Player… please double check your settings:

For single users who do not have an administrator, the Medium: Default Level allows you to view Flash content. For any Custom Level, ensure that both the "Download Signed ActiveX controls" and "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" options are set to "Prompt" or “Enable”.

    To change your security level:

    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Choose Tools > Internet Options.
    3. Select the Security tab.
    4. Select Custom Level.
    5. Find the section "ActiveX controls and plug-ins".
    6. Make sure that all the AciveX settings are set to “Prompt” or “Enable”

Also check to see if Pop-up blockers are enabled.

Darren, I've done all of that at least 20-30 times (probably more). Still, no go. It appears to install but in the size column, it shows nothing. In the Macromedia folder, it shows that it is there but it doesn't appear to actually be installed. Yet, I still get the IE won't allow the site to use ActiveX in an unsafe manner message. I've turned off the pop-ups, phising, set the secutiry to medium and checked the ActiveX plug-ins you have suggested. I'm looking for a new car but all the sites use Flash Player to show their stuff - I can't see what I need to see to decide what I want to buy. It's extremely frustrating - of course, new car sites are not the only ones that use Flash Player. I'm about at my wits end. Other suggestions?
