FLASH Player on WINDOWS

"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player."

I cannot successfully get Flash Player to work on my computer. I have tried everything I can to get it to work but it wont. I have turned off Norton Internet Security and Internet Options internet security. I've allowed this to be a trusted site in every part of my computers settings. I have turned off my pop-up blockers. And I have uninstalled the old version with the uninstaller.

But, when I get to the installer page I get either the Internet Pop-up bar saying "Cannot allow installation of ActiveX Control that may harm your computer", if I click on that bar I get no option to allow it to install anyways. Or it lets me install it and it says "Flash Player Successfully Installed" but then I return to Youtube only to see "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player." And I know I have Javascript on and installed correctly and I have turned on every single allow of activeX to be on.

I have been doing these things countless times for weeks now and it wont work.

I have this problem fixed with the help of many others posters info thanks guys.
    1. download the flash uninstaller from adobe wed site to your desktop and run it first.

    NEXT
    2. open regedit.exe (watch out.. you are now treading in sensitive territory)
    3. In HKLM/Software delete the Macromedia Key
    4. In HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Macromedia remove the Flash Key of you already have shockwave installed.

    The key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPlayer\SafeVersions

Just delete the String value for FP 9 on the right side of the safe versions folder
    NEXT

Please download the following to your desktop.

    http://www.supportflash.com/reset_min.zip

    1. unzip the “reset_minimal.cmd” and the “subinacl.exe” to the desktop

*** Make sure both files are on the desktop***

    2. Close out all applications
    3. Run the “reset.cmd” file
    4. It will open a DOS like terminal
    5. When it is finished it will say “press any key to continue”
    6. At this point you can download the latest Flash Player from here:

    www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
Download Flash player to your desktop right click give it admin rights and install restart ie7 and your good to go.

One thing I did notice which may be helpful to the people working on this problem I went to this site http://www.winsupersite.com/ When I click on what I use IE7 closed and reopened this had not happen before on this site so I when to tools in ie7 manage add- ons and disable flash player guess what the site work fine again no crash in ie7 so were lies the problem is it ie7, flash player, or that site which works fine with flash disabled.
Hope some one can figure this out and post back.
    Best Regards.

I couldnt use YouTube etc - this is how i fixed it:-

    1. Download the un-installer and un-install Flash Player.

    2. Then restart your computer.

    3. Go to the Adobe website and install Flash Player again. The address is below.

    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BIOW

    4. Next, download the standalone installer. It can be found from this address, just copy and paste it into your browser.
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_active_x.msi

    After downloading it, install it.

    5. Done ! Go and check whatever you wanted to play to see if Flash works again. If it doesn't, restart your computer and try again.

Note: I have Microsoft Windows Home Edition SP2. I also have IE7. I do not know if it will work with Professional or other systems.

    good luck :)

here are a few pointers for ya'll

    1. Uninstall with the Flash Player remove tool
    2. delete necessary registry keys. (make sure you dont have any tools that block registry modification, in addtion you being the admin on the machine)
    4. Install from exe file. You can register on adobe to download the full file instead of the IE based install (here is a direct link http://www.filehippo.com/download/3c4bd64134afeb9c987a0b8dedc9b91d/download/)
    3. check IE security settings. (You may try adding adobe.com as a trsuted site).
    4. You may want to play with this setting in IE Properties-->Security-->Custom Level and try enabling "Disable Video & Animation....." and try

None of these things listed have solved my problem.
This is what I have done so far.
    Iv'e uninstalled flash player
    Iv'e dowloaded JAVA
Iv'e enabled everything on my pc permissions/resticted sites
    Iv'e cleared all my cookies
    refreshed and refreshed
tried all the links given on these recent forums
Nothing works, when I go download flash player, I click install, it just pops back to the origianl screen. For the last week this is all thats happened.

This is also driving me mad. Youtube works fine, the adobe site says it's installed fine (9.0.47.0). However those sites that are doing some sort of javascript based detection fail to detect it.

So I've tried the uninstall mechanisms shown here. Uninstall /clean and reset.cmd.

When I re-install, it works. As soon as I log off and on again, it doesn't.

    Help !!!

    Thanks

I should add I'm on Vista 32, and this problem seems to have started since my son tried install Adobe Flash CS3 Trial. Though this may have been incidental.

I messed with the registry and now I can't get to my desktop anymore. It gets hung up on one of the Windows startup screens. Do I need some other help now. Can I somehow undo what I did in the registry.
