Scam Alert!

When you Google most Adobe products now, one of the first sponsored links that comes up is to a website called https://agsoftwarestore.com/ that claims to sell Adobe products for a huge discount. Stupidly, I fell for the scam and purchased a key for Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. When I entered the key, I got a message that said it had already been used. I've been going back and forth with the owner of this company for nearly a month trying to get my money back, and he finally did today, but I don't want anyone else to go through this. He keeps telling me I entered the key wrong, that I'm a bad person for trying to screw his company over because he's 21 and just trying to help people, etc. It's obviously a scam and they guy refuses to admit to it. I've been posting negative reviews anywhere I can to alert people, but the site really needs to get taken down. I reported it to the fraud division of the FBI, the BBB, basically anywhere I can think of but nothing is being done. This guy is scamming people out of their money every day (he's at the top of Google results when you search for an Adobe product, for crying out loud) and no one seems concerned that the website is still up! I just thought I would post this here ad let everyone know so nobody else falls for it!

It looks like SoftwareTonight is a Shopify site. Surely this is against Shopify's terms of service. Maybe someone can reach out to them and get the account shut down? I think Shopify would be able to look into it and shut down the account more quickly than the BBB or FBI could.

I found a place on Shopify's site to submit a report of acceptable use policy violations. I submitted one, feel free to do the same. I'm sure it couldn't hurt.

Hello! I did a google search for “Software max reviews”, and this thread came up. Can anyone tell me if they know anything about this website? I’m trying to he my dad get some software and he doesn’t want or need a subscription, but he does need a particular program. I read the thread and didn’t see anything about software max, but I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything, as my father cannot afford to be scammed. Thank you all for your time and any help or advice!!

Don't know, but have you ever heard of them before? If not, then with software, caution is warranted.

Here, it's pretty simple – this is the official list of Adobe authorized resellers:

Adobe Partner Connection Portal

If any seller is not in there, then it's unauthorized by Adobe and definitely advised against, as described in the article linked above.

I actually further looked into them and they are not legit. Thank you for the link! It will be most helpful! Have a beautiful and blessed weekend!

Sorry for people's losses. Can't comment about any of those sites in particular, but these recommendations may help in general:

Why Never to Buy Adobe Software from eBay, Amazon Mkt, or Any Seller You've Never Heard Of

As an aside, it's pretty easy for anybody to purchase ads to put a website at the top of Google search (with the little "Ad" icon to the left of the site's address). That means the search placement was paid for, rather than organically relevant.

Got scammed last night. $29.99 for Acrobat DC Pro. The SoftwareTonight website shows up on Google search in the sponsored links area. After I paid for the software, I got three emails one of which had link o download the software. Which of course did not work and after three tries to download the software I got the message

Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (Windows) (Instant)

0 downloads remaining

Very frustrating.

Finally had to chat with Adobe for an hour and go through 5 agents to find out that the product key I was provided is registered on a different ID.

Had to call my CC to cancel the card. Going to dispute the charge once it gets posted.

Shame on these people!

I purchased PS and AI from E&G Software about a year ago...they somehow worked for over a year, but this past week both my serial numbers were revoked and I was informed that it was a scam...I went back through the emails I had from when I bought them, and they have totally abandoned the domain name. Does anyone know if this "company" was affiliated with others discussed above that have an active website, and whether contacting them with my receipts and a harshly-worded letter would get me a refund?

Just a friendly update. I did a Google Search to buy InDesign and the first result was a company called SoftwareTonight , and when you go to their T&S, it mentions A&G, which is how i landed on this thread.

https://www.softwaretonight.com/pages/terms-of-service

So after reading this thread I will not be purchasing software through this guy. But just wanted to share with everyone else, and so SoftwareTonight.com comes up in search and we can stop this scammer once and for all.

Thank you so much. I was searching for reviews of softwaretonight.com website before purchasing. Thankfully, I landed here just in time. I was about to hit submit on the order. Thank you!

Adobe say:

If you have received a message when trying to install your product, stating the serial number you are using has been revoked, or is invalid, it is because the serial number you are attempting to use has been blocked by Adobe.

Adobe blocks serial numbers that are known to have not been issued by Adobe, or are known to have been used fraudulently by unauthorized sellers to produce counterfeit software.

Unfortunately, you may only know the serial number has been blocked for this reason when re-activating or reinstalling Adobe software.

I STUPIDLY purchased Adobe Illustrator Cs6 (Mac) (Instant) from Lentie. or agsoftwarestore

and have had the same problem,  in my opinion this site is not real.

OKay I bought Lentie too. Should I call my bank to secure the credit card?

Hey mate, when you bought your copy from Lentie, did you actually receive the product?

I bought 3 products from this store and have just attempted to reinstall them after a PC clean-up. In all cases the message came back that the licenses numbers had been revoked. Tried to contact the company but it was unavailable. Will try the email addresses above
