absolutely latest patches &c for FM12

Question

So, after months of pushing string, the long-awaited e-mail "we'll be installing your FM 12 tomorrow." Except that the same mail also said "we need to see {person} first." That was last week; still no movement, but at least it gives me time to ask what the latest patches are; and also to ask whether this will be an old-style installation where we install the base product and then patiently add layers of updates in order, or a new-style installation where we automagically pick up the very latest, patched version/release just by clicking on [Download]. All advice welcome.

Hi Niels,AFAIK, you still have to install all of the patches in order. Also, if you already have an Acrobat installation in place (or plan on installing the full Acrobat or TechComm Suite), install the Acrobat component first and then FM. When installing FM with the full Acrobat, make certain to turn off installing the PDF Creator option that comes with FM (as this will stomp all over the Acrobat Distiller component). See: Re: FrameMaker 11 uninstalls Acrobat Pro for screen shots showing where the PDF Creator option is deftly hidden.All three of the FM12 patches are available here: Adobe - FrameMaker : For Windows or you can click on the Help > Updates,,, option in FM to trigger the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) to look for available patches/updates for all of your Adobe apps (please configure the Preferences for the AAM so it behaves as you want it to).
