Question

Acrobat, really, but as it's part of a FrameMaker workflow ...

I'll come clean straight off and admit I've cross-posted this to the Acrobat forum ... but I'll bet someone here knows the answer too!  [Acrobat Pro Extended 9.3.2 on XP] Finished my own review of the comments in a comment-enabled document; selected "Create pdf of comments summary" (separate page); received pdf with original content visible and comments shown as black boxes. Not very helpful! Hints and tips on getting the comment summary I'm used to (and have had before) welcome – thanks in advance.

    Niels,

It is not clear what you are doing, but I open the PDF with the comments, then select Comments > Summarize Comments. In the dialog box, there are two choices that list separate pages: one with lines connecting the content of the comments to their locations in the original content AND one with the locations of the comments numbered. In both cases, the content of each comment is listed on the next page of the resulting PDF. If you chose the numbered choice, then the "comments" appear in the original content as little boxes with numbers inside. So, the result in either case is a PDF with one page of original content, then a page of comments, then a page of original content, then a page of comments, etc.

On the other hand, if you print a PDF using the Adobe PDF printer, then the result is a PDF with the comments as boxes, UNLESS you click the Summarize Comments button.

I have Acrobat Professional, NOT extended, but it works as stated above.
