You can also insert a manual page break using Insert > Page Break:

This will insert a manual page break akin to what you're used to in that "sledgehammer" product (aka MS Word).

But this Insert Page Break... in FrameMaker does not insert a <page break> at the position of the cursor as you get in the "sledgehammer product". FM works with styles and hence modifies the current paragraph to start at a desired position (you get a dialogue to select from the choices).

I never really thought about it that way. I've always just gone with "I want this paragraph to start on the next page, so I'll insert a Page Break." I've never gone back and looked at changes to the paragraph style for that paragraph.

There are any number of ways to force a blank page. Two that immediately come to mind are:

    1. Insert an empty (no text) paragraph with an empty anchored frame that requires a whole page.
    2. Insert an empty para that has Pagination set to top of page. This, however, requires that the next para also have top of page.

If this happens to be the case of a last page in a chapter, FM has a built-in option for inserting blank pages to make page count even.

Hi Bob, can't I add a blank page in a simple way like MS word. I'm trying to add a blank page to write content, but I am unable to do so. How can I proceed with the content?

re: …can't I add a blank page in a simple way like MS word.

    Nope.

I don't actually know how MS word does it internally, but the deal with FM is that FM doesn't have a discrete internal data object for page break. Top-of-page is a paragraph property, and/or large objects can also implicitly force a new page.
