Adding Pre-Existing Text to Structured FM Document

Is it possible to add preexisting text in structured FrameMaker. For instance, I am creating a template for instruction manuals in FM. Each manual will be edited appropriately by the writers, but the manual template contains certain paragraphs/sentences/blurbs that remain the same throughout every manual. Is this added in the structured view or does this have to be done in the 'What You See Is What You Get' view?

Thank you!

I use West Street Consulting's free InsetPlus plugin to insert structured content at any point in any document that needs it. The plugin is able to use a DITA-like conref attribute to make it clear where the content is coming from.

An element definition can't include text (unless it's part of a prefix or suffix), but a template can typically contain whatever structure and content that you want to include.

If you're looking for a way to insert boilerplate content and structure while authoring, you might take a look at my StructureSnippets plugin ..

This lets you define personal and shared snippet libraries what can be inserted easily as needed.

That depends completely on you, your environment or your company agenda.

For pre-existing text, you can define it in the template, as building blocks in a CMS, as building blocks in a referenced file or whatever your path is.

Essentially this is often up to the company setup. If there is none, well, do as you please
