Anchored Frames: Can I change the default type?

When I import a graphic, it comes up in an anchored frame that is Centered and Cropped. I always want it to be Right and not-cropped. Is there a way to set this preference?

Using FM12, which continues to have the bug that pressing Ctrl-9 (or -8 or -0) and starting to type to quickly (the first time) causing a hang-up from which the only solution is to close FM12 and open it again, a 2-minute waste of time.

On your second point:

- I have reported this as bug but did not get an answer yet

- In my case i have to wait about 10 seconds before I type ...

- I have FM 12.0.1 installed - but that has the same problem

Can’t help you with the first point as I don’t work much with graphics in my docs (& the ones I do have depend on anchored frames) – maybe use object styles to set your defaults?

On your second point – have you updated your copy of FM12 with the latest patch?

If I recall correctly, there isn't a way to reset the default directly, but

it does seem to inherit the history of some imports.

The solution I like the best is to run a micro FrameScript (from Rick

Quato) that's configurable to whatever set of parameters you want to use.

Also works retroactively to reset all frames book-wide.

Once upon a time, long, long ago, there was a plugin available from the late Bruce Foster (may he rest in peace) named ImpGraph that did exactly this. However, with his passing, the plugin is no longer available. Actually, there was also a function to faciliate a "shrinkwrap" function to fit the frame to the graphic, or only to width or height proporitionately...but I'm not sure whether my FM7.2 interface was pulling that feature from Bruce's ImpGraph or elsewhere. Anywho...

I went to www.frameexpert.com and www.rickquatro.com (the only 2 sites to my knowledge where I could get one of Rick's scripts) but I'm not seeing any micro scripts for managing anchored frames. Art, can you provide a link to Rick's solution?
