Question

apply and edit conditional text across whole book

I have several conditional text tags in several documents that I use in different books.

When I am editing I like to have the conditional text a different colour so I can easily see where it is and if it is applied correctly

But how can I change the colour of all the text of a tag in all the documents in a book in one go instead of in each document?

    1. identify the character style that's being applied – I always roll my own, so I don't know for certain what the FM defaults are
    2. update this character style in one .fm file from the .book
    3. select all the files in the book (to avoid irritating 'inconsistency' messages) and use File > Import > Formats to import character formats from the updated file to the rest of the book
