Bk7 Template Question

Hi,

I'm trying to modify the template called Bk 7 (in the More Samples folder that comes with FrameMaker) so that the Chapter Number is on the left side and the Chapter Title is on the right (basically I want them to switch places), however I don't understand enough about Run-In Heads, etc, and I can't make it work.

Is there an easy way to do this?

Thanks!

The Run-in setting in a paragraph means that the paragraph will not use a line break to separate the content of the following paragraph. Instead, it will use whatever one enters into the Default Punctuation field. So, if you enter nothing, then there will be absolutely no separation between the end of the paragraph and the next one.

For the Bk7 sample, the Chapter Title is run-in to the Chapter Number paragraph with no separation. However, the Chapter Number is set right-justified, so this pulls the number away from the content of the Chapter Title paragraph.

To reverse these, change the Chapter Number paratag to be run-in and set Left-justified. Also, add the Chapter Title to the Next Pgf Tag setting. Then change the Chapter Title to be set Right Justified, set the Next Pgf Tag to be the Body tag and turn off the Run-in setting (i.e. set it to In Column).

Also, don't forget to move the background colour square on the Master page(s) so that the Chapter Number will be visible (it's set to be White).
