Question

Can the parentheses be removed from a cross referenced numbered tag?

I have cross references to "numbered" paragraph tags.  In the document, the lines with numbered tags have a right parentheses marker after the number.  When I make a cross reference to these items, the parenthese is included.  Is there a way to exclude the prarentheses in the cross referenced item?

Thank you in advance,

Bill

What are the building blocks used in the x-ref? If the parantheses are part of the paragraph text, then they will always get picked up. If they are part of the autonumber, then try using the <$paranumonly> building block.

We are currently using <$paranumonly>.  I will try the autonumber you mentioned to see what happens.  I do know they created a "listintro" tag that allows other tag types to be embedded within the "numbered" items and the number scheme picks back up where it left off.
