Question

Can version 7.0 be upgraded to 7.1 or will ver9 work on 7.1?

I require 7.1 for doing work at home on an existing 7.1 document, the company I work for is still using 7.1 and has no plans to upgrade to 9 at this point in time.

I can purchase a new unopened box with FM version 7.0  to use at home. It is as far as I can determine a legitimate FM product.

Or can it be upgraded to ver 9 and work on v7.1 documents without changing them to ver 9?

Thanks to anyone who can answer this somewhat convoluted question

It is unlikely you can find a legitimate version of 7.0 available. According to the Adobe store version 7.0 is upgradable to version 9.

Version 9 cannot work on version 7.1 files. It will  upgrade them to version 9, but you can save to MIF which can be opened in version 7.1

But if you use any Unicode characters (supported in 9), they won't be picked up properly in 7.1.
