Change bars on tables

Hello! Is there a work around to be able to add change bars? For some reason, it did not show the change bar when I added it to the anchored table.

I have a script that will add change bars to the entire length of tables and anchored frames. See www.frameexpert.com/store.

There is a free version for tables at the bottom of the web page.

Hi Andrea, I found your reply in a very old discussion and split it for you.

Are you having trouble with a table within a table, or just with a regular table?

Either way, sometimes the change bars on tables get wonky. You may need to manually apply the change bars rather than relying on auto change bars.

Did you turn on the Track Edits before making the change? According to this - https://help.adobe.com/en_US/framemaker/using/using-framemaker/user-guide/WS6b4ef44559cac226-179a7361454467d0ff-8000.html - it should track tables.

    Hi Andrea,

Do you want to use change bars (Format | Document | Change Bars) or Track Text Edits (toolbar icons or Edit | Track Text Edits)?

When you use change bars, a newly inserted table does not get any change bars. Only when you enter text in a table.

Track Text Edits: new tables and new text in tables has Track Text Edits. In fact, when you activate Track Text Edits and insert a table, you have to either keep Track Text Edits activated to enter text in this table, or deactivate it and accept the Track Text Edit of this table.

    Best regards, Winfried
