Chapter numbers appear incorrect when saving structured FM documents to XML

I am working on a set of structured FM chapters. Before creating a book, I have been testing them for XML conversion. However, every time the XML document takes up the chapter number as defined in the structured template.

I am using the structured application for this conversion. It consists of EDD, DTD, read/write rules document and the structured template. If I use a template generated from chapter 1, all the XML documents take up chapter number as 1 and so on. How do I set the chapter numbering so that it works correctly at the chapter level? 

Secondly. for the chapter element, I have defined Otherprops as chapter. In spite of this, when I render the XML, the Chapter Title shows up as Heading 1. I need to reset this in the XML code view of the document where the Otherprops is misplaced. How do I make this work?
