Circular text flow?

Hi all

I have two text boxes on two separate master pages, which I am trying to join so that the text flows from the first to the second.

I get the message " connection is not possible. You may be trying to connect two frames that would result in a circular text flow..."

I don't understand. I'm just trying to connect a text box on page "First" to page "Middle".

(There are four master pages in this document - Right (which is not used), First, Middle and End.)

Can anyone enlighten me on what I'm doing wrong please?

Thanks

Laura

Try using Format > Customize Layout and the Disconnect commands to ensure that the existing frames are disconnected before attempting the new connections.

If you just want the flow to be First > Middle > End, why not just let them auto-connect, and use Master Page Mapping to ensure that the content invokes the desired page layout?

Thanks for getting back to me.  I did try the Disconnect commands but they didn't seem to work.

I got round the problem by creating text frames on the Body pages and linking them (this worked ok for some reason).

    Many thanks.
