Content disappeared in chapter file

Hi,

We are a group sitting in physically different locations, but working on the same files stored on the server in one of the sites. We've had some surprises with files getting messed up, but haven't done a good job at tracking the cases. This morning one of my colleagues discovered that all the content of one of our chapters had disappeared. We have backup, so probably haven't really lost anything. But I am curious about what could have happened. Has anyone else experienced that FM files suddenly are empty, or similar?

Thanks!

I'd definitely want all group members to be on the same version, as there are some very subtle little differences between the two versions that could creep in "under the radar" to cause trouble.

[just a reminder that all FM patches and updates need to be installed in order; i.e. they're not "roll-up"]

When you install p158 you'll find a "readme" file in one of the installation directories that outlines some of the fixes; I don't see anything specifically about content going AWOL, but again, it could be one of the more subtle aspects that is tripping you up.

    Hi,

Thanks for responding! Four of us have b144, the fifth person has p158. It is the fifth person that experienced the empty file. This file has mostly been edited by person 5, but one of us others most probably have edited the file at some point.

Could our situation be related to this difference in version? Would it be generally advisable to always ensure the whole group has the same version?

Tone, which specific version of FM 7.2, the "pxxx" numbers from Help > About, and could you double-check whether all of the members of your group have the same version.
