Difference between CROSSREFS and CONREFS?

What is the difference between CrossRef and ConRef?

I'm a Newbie.  I'm trying to figure out how to create a cross reference.

I have open in FM

Chapter.fm and

CrossRef.ditamap

How do I designate the word "Rhonda" in the Chapter so that it picks up the word "Rhonda" and enters a cross reference for each page and location it can be found in the Chapter.fm

any suggestions would be helpful
