Question

Distorted printing of rounded rectangle

Hi,

I have added rounded rectangle shapes to my FrameMaker document. They have a fill and a border using the fill and pen pattern options. We have overlaid a text box on top. We then PDF the document. When we print the PDF on any of our company printers, they look fine, color or B&W. We've sent them to a printer for color printing and are having an issue. The border line on the right-hand side "sometimes" has a bit of a shadow and "sometimes" the line becomes thicker in the center on the longer shapes. Might be hard to visualize, but at any rate, the line does not maintain a consistent thickness on this particular printer. I don't have the specifications on the printer at this point. Has anyone seen this type of distortion, and if so, is there a fix to the problem? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

This sounds a little familiar. In Distiller, go to Settings> Edit Adobe

PDF Settings> Advanced tab, and see if changing the "Convert smooth

lines to curves" setting makes a difference.

Does your problem have any similarity to this one?
