Question

DITA Preview view

GM,

Can I view what output will be while working in my Concept DITA file?

I want to be able to see what the formatting will look like, as I go.

Or, do I have to do a style sheet for the Reference Pages first.

I want to output to PDF as final goal, but would be nice to 'preview' along the way.

Thank you,

Vicki

For PDF, you can adjust the editing template to more closely align with the output template.

For HTML, you're kind of stuck with publishing to see changes.

Navigate to Structure>Application Definition>Edit Global Application Definitions to see where the files are that you need to update.

    Hi Matt,

First thank you for your reply - just don't understand it.

My output will be to PDF.  I want to be able to 'see' how my DITA file will look when it is published.

'editing template to more closely align with the output template'

DITA provides a default editing template, I guess it also does one for output.

Do I need to custom  a template for output, if different from the default?

Do I just 'Print'>PDF to see default output?

    Thank you,

    Vicki
