Question

ditaval entry not filtering out content properly - FM 2020, Dita 1.3

I have a shared topic that lists the cautions and warnings. Using the props attribute, I've set up a list of values for the writers to select from. In the edds, the value giving me trouble is:

HGC HGEP HGEXO HGNHP OGC OGEP OGEXO OGNHP

I've updated the templates with the edds.

In the ditaval, the corresponding entry is:

<prop att="props" val="HGC HGEP HGEXO HGNHP OGC OGEP OGEXO OGNHP" action="exclude"/>

But, the rendering process (going to a PDF) does not filter out the content tagged this way. As far as I can tell, other combinations are filtering fine.

Any suggestions?

Wanda

Hey Wanda,

Are you trying to say that ditaval is working fine with another type of value string but not filtering isn't working for you when using value string like "HGC HGEP HGEXO HGNHP OGC OGEP OGEXO OGNHP"?

Thanks

Hi Pulkit,

The combinations work, in general, it is this specific combination that we found wasn't filtering. We have found that to filter a combination, the ditaval must include that specific combination. So, I build my props attribute list of values from the same source as the ditavals. The list is copied and reformatted for the choices option for the props attribute. The list is also copied and formatted for the ditavals. The values are supposed to be identical.

So far, we've only found this one instance.
