I need to track changes from draft to draft and would like to use different change bar colors for this purpose. Is this possible using FrameMaker?

thanks in advance,

I'm not positive you can do it just with change bars, but the Track Changes capability in FM 8 should allow you to juggle colors and revs at will by altering the conditions it applies automatically.

So you could have one color set for First draft, another color set for Second, and so on.

While "Track Changes" helps, it does not work wekll in a document that makes extensive use of conditional text, where the edits need to add/remove conditional text.

I.e,. it would be NICE to have different change bar typesm in addition.

As it is, I find Track Changes not very useful.  So I am resorting to turning change bars on and off.   Which loses, because then I lose change bars prior to the new set.

By the way: I can get multiple changebars easily in LaTeX.

fwiw, I've always used conditions for track changes and never even considered turning Track Changes on – I found it far too easy to end up with an unreadable document. I agree, though, that change bars that picked up the colour of the font could be a nifty enhancement.
