Does Framemaker v 7.1 works fine with Windows 2007?

Hi,

My company is upgrading the systems to Windows 2007.  I am using Framemaker v 7.1 for creating documentation. Will it have any impact? Do I need to upgrade to the latest version of frame.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Latha

Only FM9 is certified to work with Windows 7, however, there's a good chance that it will still continue work (in the Win7 32-bit version, the 64-bit version tends to be finicky based upon reports here and elsewhere). I don't know about Windows 2008 server platform, as it is not listed in the FM requirements. I have run FM6 successfully on a Win2003 server platform, so I suspect that it would.

    Hi,

Thanks for the response. Were you able to generate a PDF from a framemaker file? I am unable to generate PDF using windows server 2008. Will windows 7 support to generate a PDF from framemaker file.

I use Windows 7 and FM 7 and everything works perfectly, except it freezes when I try to select text or table cells "too long". See my question "Frame Maker 7 vs Windows 7 and Windows Vista" (or something like that) written a couple of days ago. I generate pdf:s to the Adobe pdf printer (acrobat professional 9) and it works great.

    Hi All,

The systems are upgraded to windows server 2008 R2 standard. Please let me know whether Framemaker 7.1 will work fine with this upgrade? Or do I need to upgrade my Framemaker?

    Thanks,

    Lata
