Mac FrameMaker 7 works under OS 10.4.x using Classic. It does not work on 10.5. The PC versions of FrameMaker work well on 10.5 using Bootcamp, Parallels (my choice), or Fusion. While I prefer Mac FrameMaker, time marches on, I would not hesistate to recommend Frame 9 on 10.5 using a Windows emulation product.

Do I understand from your post that you've used Frame 9 on OS 10.5 successfully with Parallels? We might be getting new hardware, and I need to know if we can use FM9 on a Mac or if we need to stick with Windoze.

    Thanks!

    Shane,

Many users have reported running FM under Bootcamp, Parallels, VMware Fusion, etc.. Reports suggest that FM8 runs faster than FM9 in these configurations.

See "FrameMaker on Intel Macintosh": http://www.daube.ch/docu/fmaker46.html for more info.

The last version of FrameMaker for the Mac was 7. There is no version 8 or 9 for the Mac; however, if you have a newer Mac with an Intel processor, you can run the Windows version in one of the Windows emulators for the Mac. I have never done that, so I do not know whether there are any issues or not.

Maybe someone else can help. I have seen a few people on this forum that run the Windows version on a Mac.
