Does TCS5 require removing TCS4 applications?

Is it possible to install Technical Communications Suite (TCS) 5 while retaining the TCS4 applications? I need to run both Robohelp 10 and 11, and FrameMaker 11 and 12 in support of team members who cannot upgrade yet due to project timelines. In case it matters, I'm running Windows 7 64-bit w/ 8 GB of memory.

Thanks,

Alan

AFAIK, you can have multiple versions of FM and RH on the same machine, but some other apps may not play nice. Acrobat is one version only - I don't know how well Captivate plays with older versions of itself.

Hi There,

Yes you can have both TCS4 and TCS 5 installed on the same computer with no issues. But most of the products are not backward compatible. So if you will oen Captivate 6 file in Captivate 8 then you will not be able to open it back in Captivate 6.

Regards,

Mayank

Thank you, that is what I'm expecting. I will be very careful to keep the projects I need to preserve in older versions separate from those I open in TCS5 applications.

I’d be removing Acrobat first before installing TCS5 – multiple versions don’t play nice on the same machine
