Easy one- repeated text on several pages of a manual

This should be an easy question for FM experts. I am having a moment.

Whats the best way to provide the same text on several (but not all) pages of a chapter/manual? The text is several lines at the bottom of the pages but is not considered footer text. It includes pricing (which will change yearly). My first thought is to format in excel and import by reference, but thinking there might be a better way. We are FM novices.

Thanks in advance!

I'd probably create a custom master page that includes the text in a

background frame. Then assign that master page to the appropriate pages.

It also sounds like you may want to create a variable for the pricing.

You might even look at the BookVars plugin from Leximation.com, which

makes it easy to manage these book-wide.

    Define "best way"

The main question is how much formatting does the repeated content have to bring with it?

    You can do it as:

    • Variable
    • Cross-Reference
    • Text Inset
    • Imported text image (EPS text or even outlines or raster)
    • Background text on custom Master Page
    • and now for something, completely different

They all have benefits and hazards.

If it's a benefit, it's not my problem.
