Edit "Frame Below Pgf" options

Hi There,

I am currently trying to add a thin grey horizontal line below the headings in my document. I am able to use the "Frame Below Pgf" option in the paragraph designer to add a black line, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to edit the colour or weight of the added line.

Would anybody be able to point me in the right direction where I can edit the available lines?

    The short answer is View > Reference Pages, detailed here: https://www.rockymountaintraining.com/adobe-framemaker-what-are-reference-pages/.

     

    Any change you make to the line on the reference page will be picked by any paragraph style that references it, and it will move as you add text above that Heading1 paragraph. If you are outputting to print or PDF (like over 90% of my students do) that's all you need to know!

     

    But if you are outputting to HTML, be sure to follow up on Bob's more detailed explanation.

      The line itself is on Reference Page "Reference", usually in named Frame "Single Line".

      Use the normal FM graphics tools to edit its properties, including color (and spacing, via the Frame itself).

       

      If the heading w/rule is part of a page heading, you could also just draw lines on Master Pages, which is the approach I took for recent project.

       

      That said, what are the output workflows?
      FrameAbove/Below, and MP art, works in print and PDF, but it does not get rendered as an ‹HR› when sent to HTML, and the width is a fixed absolute value. MP art may not get rendered at all to HTML. If you want a horizontal rule specified as some % size, there may some Table rule hacks available.
