Equations Disappear

I've had this happen a few times... I have a document with equations and they all suddenly disappear. The equation boxes are still there but there is nothing in them.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

    Hi Paul,

    More questions:

How do the frames without equations look like? Are the frames white or grey?

Did this happen, when you opened an existing file? Or with all of your files? Also new files? Or while you are working? Did FrameMaker give you a message, when you opened the file?

Can you check, if your graphics are displayed (View | Options | Graphics)?

    Best regards

Thank you all for your replies. I built the equations using the equation editor. The equation boxes look white. I'm using Framemaker 2020 with the latest update:

    Version: 16.0.4.1062

I attached the file in question. See the empty equatiom boxes at the bottom of pages 1 and 4.

    thanks

    hi Winfried,

Oh wow, when I checked the box on  (View | Options | Graphics), the equations came back!

Is there some shortcut for this checkbox that I inadvertently typed while working on the document?

    Thanks!

The two shortcuts that I am aware of to hide/show graphics are:

    • Esc v v
    • Esc v o Alt+i

    Hi Paul:

How did you add the equations to your document? As images from Word's equation editor? Using FrameMaker's equation editor? As a MathML equation?

    What version of FM?

And are these by any chance external objects imported by reference?
