Providing you are happy with the font that has been substituted in place of the original font:

1) Go to Edit Preferences and un tick the Remember Missing Font Names box.

2) Close and then reopen Framemaker - the above setting never takes effect until Framemaker has been restarted.

3) Open all files in the book and accept the missing font warning for each file.

4) Save all files in the book

5) Run an update on the book and it should now work fine and have forgotten all the original fonts.

  • possible short-term fix, say if you need to get a document out today: shift+File > Open all files in the book, and accept the warning for each file that FM isn't happy with
  • long-term fix: do as Jeff suggests :-}

and when you're painstakingly correcting your files, look out for fonts that are specified in styles you are no longer using and/or on master pages. This has helped me, anyway; ymmd

This is the primary font that I am required to use in all our manuals going forward. Those names are basically two different names for the same font.
