Exclude FM files from HTML5 output using conditions rather than "Exclude" option?

I've been trying to work out if it is possible to include some FM files in the PDF output (such as the front and back cover) but exclude them from the HTML5 output using conditions rather than right clicking on the TOC and selecting Exclude each time I publish. As far as I can tell conditions can only be used for parts of a file's contents, rather than the complete file, but as usual, I'm finding FM's help to be less than helpful so I'm not 100% confident on that. Does anyone know if there's a way to automate this for the specific output types?

The way to do this is to have different book files that contain the set of fm chapters for each output.

I agree that this goes against the single sourcing paradigm and it would be more flexible to be able to apply conditions to chapters in a book. I've wanted that feature for ages.

Hi,

What is on your front file? Did you do a test and apply a condition to all the content of this file and then hide it and then export the book to HTML?

That's what I would do, but I do not have a test book at hand.

I would say that the FrameMaker help is rather good. Of course there are mistakes (as in probably all documentation), but it covers 90 % of all questions. Yours is rather special ;).
